Read the surroundings
Woodland sites change with the season. Paths that are firm in summer can be muddy after rain, while dense foliage can make familiar trails feel new. Arrive with time to walk the designated staging area, check the weather, and understand the organiser’s map.
Travel light
Leave nonessential equipment in the safe area and keep the things you need easy to reach. Water, a small snack, and clothing appropriate to the forecast make more difference to your comfort than an overloaded bag. Follow all site instructions on equipment and movement.
Keep the weekend welcoming
Share transport where practical, give new players time to settle in, and take your rubbish home. The conversations between games are part of the appeal. Leave space in the schedule for a relaxed meal and a proper rest before travelling home.
